This was a courtyard garden completed at the end of 2016, that was part of a larger renovation project of an existing property. The garden forms a generous and open entertaining space in the heart of Fulham, using a warm material palette and planting to make it a welcome area to use. Always on display through new glass doors, the terrace was required to be architectural and sculptural, creating a picture to be viewed from within the house. Handmade clay bricks laid in a herringbone pattern edged with traditional Yorkstone, provided a 'carpet' like appearance to the terrace making the area feel larger overall. The free standing planters and furniture provide flexibility for how the space can be used, whether for a garden ball game or summer cocktail party. Planted using seasonal highlights, the palette was chosen to succeed in the sun filled location and to reflect the client's Californian heritage. Bespoke storage has been made with the Garden Trellis Company.
This garden was designed for Harris Murray-Wicks and BTL Property.
